This illustration was inspired by an old Hungarian belief. It's about the shortest day of the year, Luca day or the Witchy day.
According to the tradition, Luca's chair had to be made until Christmas. The person who made the chair sits on this chair at midnight on the 25th December and can see the witch. But after that the person should hurry home because the witch starts chasing them. The maker of the chair spread poppy-seeds on the ground because the witch can't resist and picks up the seeds and eats them all. And the person can get home safely.
